Objective: This course is designed to familiarize students with the role of Christianity in shaping world history since. It focuses on major world events that were influenced, started, or catalyzed by Christian thought.

Week 1 Introduction, Formation of Roman Catholic Church
Week 2 Christianity, the Holy Roman Empire, Europe, Futile System
Week 3 Christianity and Islam
Middle Ages
Week 4 Crusades, Inquisitions
Week 5 Renaissance, Natural philosophers
Modernity
Week 6 Enlightenment, Agricultural Revolution, Industrial Revolution
Week 6 Christianity & Science, Christianity Independence movements
Week 7 Christianity & Politics, Economics, Culture, & Society
Week 8 Wars, Humanitarian Problems, Conclusion
Grades:
Students will be evaluated based on three criteria: 1. Class participation 2. In class presentation 3. Examination
Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course students should have an understanding of Christian influence on the world since inception. They should be able to communicate the significance and impact of Christianity on world events. They should understand the major events that were caused and impacted by Christianity.
