Objective: This course will examine the formation and influence of the Christian Church following first apostles. It examines influential church leaders, doctrinal changes, and the spread of the Christian world view throughout the centuries.

Week 2 Anthony of Egypt, Monks, Fryers, Holy Roman Emperors
Week 3 the Papacy, Roman Catholic Church, Crusades
Week 4 John Wycliffe, Printing Press, Reformation
Week 5 Counter Reformation, Lutheran Church, Anabaptists
Week 6 Calvin, Wesley
Week 7 "New World" evangelism, 1 and 2 Great Awakenings, Azusa Street
Week 8 Pentecostalism, Holiness Movement, Tent Revivals, Charismatic Renewal, Jesus Movement, Mega churches, Conclusion
Grades:
Students will be evaluated based on three criteria: 1. Class participation 2. In class presentation 3. Examination
Outcomes:
By completing this course, students will have a historical overview of the Christian Church’s progression from after Bible times up until the present. Students should understand reasons and forces behind major church movements, doctrinal shifts, and the spreading of the Gospel throughout history.
